Outlook Search Not Working?

Does another Outlook mean new or different Outlook search issues? Not exactly, but Outlook is an email client that's used quite frequently, and like anything that's used frequently; it requires some attention and maintenance to keep it working. Therefor, even if you’re using the new Outlook 2016, you will eventually run into some problem.
One of the most common issues that occur with most Outlook clients is the search tool not working because it should. Microsoft Outlook Search not working is a problem that's common across all versions because all of them have the same base on how it functions, and that is the Outlook Search Index. There’s no need to worry though, there are things that will help you get your Outlook 2016 search up and running again.


How to fix Outlook Search problems.


Method 1. Check if the Search function is working in Outlook Safe Mode.
The 1st method to resolve Outlook search issues is to see if the Outlook search function is working normally in Safe mode.

1. to begin Outlook in Safe Mode, hold down the CTRL key (on your keyboard) and then double-click at Microsoft Outlook shortcut, or:

1. Press simultaneously the Windows image + R keys to open the run command box.
2. Type: outlook /safe and click OK.

2. In Outlook safe mode, perform a search. If Outlook search is working appropriately, then disable all Add-ins & restart Outlook normally. To disable Outlook Add-Ins:

To disable the Add-Ins in Outlook 2016, 2013 or 2010:
1. Click the File menu and select Options.
2. Select Add-ins at the left pane.
3. At the right pane, select COM Add-ins and click Go…
4. Uncheck the checkbox next to the Add-in that you want to disable and click OK.
5. Restart Outlook


To disable the Add-Ins in Outlook 2007:
1. On the Tools menu, click Trust Center.
2. Select Add-ins on the left pane.
3. At the right pane, select COM Add-ins and click Go…
4. Uncheck the checkbox next to the Add-in that you want to disable and click OK.
5. Restart Outlook.
